From Floor Layer to Quality Specialist

The Role

I work with quality assurance, ensuring that the products we sell meet customer quality requirements, applicable standards, and EU regulations. This applies to both new products and repeat orders.

A big part of my role is acting as a link between our customers’ quality departments, our own quality department and our suppliers. I ensure the documentation is in place, review products, quality data, quality reports and follow up on discrepancies. I collaborate closely with many colleagues across the organization, like sales, compliance, and customer project owners, as well as our quality teams in China and Vietnam.

Background & Approach

I originally trained as a floor layer and joined Tradepoint in September 2020 as a Facility Coordinator. After some time in aftersales, I moved into quality assurance in 2022. My practical background is very useful when testing samples and products to make sure everything works as intended.

What I Enjoy Most

The variety is what I enjoy the most. My work ranges from hands-on tasks – like checking that the construction is in accordance with the required standards – to more analytical work at my desk, as well as ongoing dialogue and collaboration across the organization.

On top of that, Tradepoint is simply a great place to be. We have great colleagues and a positive, supportive atmosphere.

The Tradepoint Culture & Development

There are strong development opportunities at Tradepoint. The company prioritizes internal candidates and focuses on supporting employee growth.

I would encourage others to apply. We have a strong sense of community – people greet each other with a smile, and we’re good at supporting one another and working as a team. At the same time, there’s room to ask critical questions, which creates a healthy and open work environment. It’s a place where you truly feel at home.

A Memorable Workday

During a trip to China, I joined our Chinese colleagues for a team day at Yellow Mountain. The rain was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced – it was so heavy that the hotel lobby flooded, and we had to be evacuated.

More generally, visiting suppliers in Asia has given me a much better understanding of both the culture and the business practices. It helps explain why issues occur and how we can prevent them. Meeting in person makes a difference.

Favorite Dish in the Canteen

I’m quite traditional – gravy and potatoes or a build-your-own burger are my favorites. Overall, I really appreciate our canteen setup.

Community & Traditions

Our town hall meetings are very valuable in a busy workday, as they give us insight into the entire business. I also appreciate our active staff association, which organizes events and activities for employees.
