“I love that no two days are the same – and that we have a culture where everyone can talk to everyone.”

What tasks do you typically handle on a daily basis?
I take care of all the practical aspects of HR – everything from payroll, contracts, and onboarding programs to travel and visas, Christmas gifts, and flu vaccinations. In addition, I act as the company’s go to person for all sorts of tasks, I’m a member of the staff association, and I’m responsible for the gift fund.

What is your background, and how do you use it in your work? I trained in banking back in the 1980s and worked as a clerk and branch manager. Even though I don’t use my banking education directly in my current job, my experience with service and numbers is a great strength in many of my tasks. I’ve been here since 2004 and am probably best known for my motto: “What can be done today should not wait until tomorrow.”

What is the best thing about your job?
I love the variety and the fact that no two days are alike. The atmosphere is wonderfully open – there’s no hierarchy here, but we respect each other. I enjoy my tasks and the trust and freedom we’re given to solve them. When I started, I’ve worked part time with HR tasks, but also with many other responsibilities, such as invoicing and customer orders. In the beginning, I even helped assemble furniture. I think it’s fun to go to work, and I have no plans to retire as long as I’m enjoying myself, my mind keeps up, and both my manager and colleagues feel I’m making a valuable contribution.

What makes Tradepoint a good place to work?
It’s a healthy workplace with good working conditions, and we get along well with each other. There’s a strong sense of togetherness, the tone is positive – and everyone can talk to everyone.

How do you see the opportunities for development at Tradepoint?
They’re good. There’s generally a lot of openness to people’s wishes, and many employees have held different positions within the organization.

What would you say to others considering applying for a job here?
Go ahead – Tradepoint is a really great place to work.

What is your favorite dish in the canteen?
I enjoy the variety, and I’m not picky. I’m always excited to try new dishes. My friends rarely get the same meal twice when I’m cooking at home. I’ve even tried guinea pig in Peru and sea cucumber in China.

Which collegial tradition do you appreciate the most?
We have a lovely tradition of giving gifts on birthdays. When you arrive at work on your birthday, your colleagues have decorated your desk and bought you a present. It’s a tradition I truly value.
